The complete screen-capture toolkit in Yeero Desktop: screenshots with smart window detection, an RGB-picking magnifier and long-screenshot stitching by scrolling; recording with region / fullscreen / window detection, system sound and microphone, camera picture-in-picture — all flowing seamlessly into the image and video editors.

Screenshot and recording rely on system-level screen capture, so they are only available in Yeero Desktop. Start either one by typing "screenshot" or "screen record" in the Launcher.

Choosing a Region

When you start a screenshot, the screen enters a full-screen selection overlay with two ways to define the area:

  • Drag a region — drag out any rectangle; the live dimensions (e.g. 1920 × 1080) are shown beside the selection
  • Click a window — click any window and the system detects its bounds automatically, no manual alignment needed

A magnifier follows the cursor for pixel-precise alignment and shows the current pixel's RGB value in real time — color picking and alignment in one step.

Actions After Selecting

Once the region is set, an action bar appears:

  • Copy — the screenshot goes straight to the clipboard, ready to paste
  • Edit — open the image editor to annotate, then save or share
  • Long screenshot — see the next section
  • Cancel — discard the selection and start over

Long Screenshots

Web pages and chat histories that exceed one screen can be captured in full with long screenshots. Two capture modes:

  • Manual scroll — scroll the target window with your mouse wheel or touchpad as usual; frames are captured and stitched automatically in the background
  • Auto scroll — click "Start auto scroll" and do nothing else: the system scrolls and captures on its own (keep your hands off the mouse while it runs), and you can stop anytime

Live progress shows the frame count and accumulated height; capture stops automatically at the maximum height, and the stitched result opens in the editor as one tall image.

Recording Settings

Starting a recording first opens the settings panel:

  • Frame rate — the adjustable range and default are configured in Settings → Launcher; higher is smoother but produces larger files
  • Quality — High / Medium / Low (mapping to different encoding quality parameters)
  • Format & output directory — choose where recordings are saved

Choosing the Recording Area

  • Full screen — record the entire display
  • Drag a region — record any rectangle, minimum 100×100 (smaller regions show a "region too small" warning)
  • Double-click a window — the window's bounds are detected automatically and used as the recording area

Controls While Recording

While recording, a floating control bar stays on screen showing the elapsed duration, and you can:

  • Pause / resume — take a break without breaking the recording; no gap on the timeline
  • Stop — finish the recording and open the completion panel

Audio & Camera

  • System audio — capture what the computer plays (meetings, videos, notification sounds)
  • Microphone — capture your voice-over, with input devices other than the default selectable
  • Camera — overlay your webcam as picture-in-picture with an adjustable position, ideal for on-camera tutorials and demos

When Recording Finishes

After stopping, a completion panel lists the video segments produced, and you can:

  • Open in Editor — jump straight into the video editor
  • Open folder / Copy path / Download — find the recording file quickly
  • Export segments — export segments as finished files

Two reliability notes: video processing tools (ffmpeg) are downloaded automatically on the first recording — a one-time wait; and if a previous recording was interrupted unexpectedly, the next recording start automatically attempts a repair and reports the outcome.
