Disk Cleaner accesses local file systems and requires Tauri's native capabilities, so it is only available in Yeero Desktop, not on the web.

Overview

The Disk Cleaner helps you answer one question: "What is eating my disk space?" It combines a visual directory tree with built-in app recognition and optional AI analysis, so you can go from "this folder is huge" to "I know exactly what it is and whether I can delete it" in seconds.

  • Multi-disk support — scan any local, removable, network or RAM disk; switch between drives with one click
  • Directory tree — drill into folders layer by layer, each node showing its total size
  • App identification — recognized applications are tagged with their name and category (30+ built-in categories)
  • AI analysis — unknown folders can be sent to AI for classification, returning the app name, category, data type and confidence
  • Safe cleanup — files are moved to the recycle bin, never permanently deleted, giving you 30 days to recover

Launching

There are two ways to open the Disk Cleaner:

  1. Via the Launcher — press Alt+Space, type "disk cleaner" or 磁盘清理, and press Enter
  2. Via the main window — navigate to the Desktop section and select Disk Cleaner

On first launch, a short onboarding dialog walks you through the three core steps: browse, identify and clean. You can dismiss it and choose not to see it again.

Disk Overview

The top bar shows a card for every detected disk:

  • Drive name and letter — e.g. "Local Disk (C:)"
  • Usage bar — a horizontal bar colored by fill level; turns red above 85%
  • Used / total — e.g. "186.3 GB / 500 GB" with a percentage
  • Drive type icon — different icons for local, USB, network, optical and RAM disks

Click any card to switch the scan target to that disk. The refresh button reloads the overview. Disks with usage above 90% also trigger a warning banner below the overview bar.

Directory Tree

Once a disk is selected, the cleaner scans its top-level directories and displays them in a tree view:

  • Click to expand — each folder reveals its subdirectories with their sizes, letting you drill down to the space hogs
  • Size bar — every node shows a proportional bar indicating how much of the parent it occupies
  • Scan progress — a progress indicator at the top shows the current path, scanned file count and total size; you can cancel at any time
  • Cache and refresh — scan results are cached for fast re-entry; a timestamp shows when the data was captured, and a "Rescan" button forces a fresh scan. Background refresh keeps the tree visible while updated data arrives

App Identification

The cleaner maintains a built-in database that recognizes common applications across 30+ categories:

Recognized folders are tagged with an app badge showing the name and category. Each entry also carries a data-type label (cache, log, user data, config, installer, temp file, backup, media cache, package cache, etc.) and a cleanup advice level.

AI Analysis

For folders the built-in database does not recognize, you can click "AI Analyze" to let the model identify them:

  • Single analysis — analyze one folder at a time
  • Batch analysis — select multiple unknown folders and analyze them together (costs credits)
  • Result details — the AI returns an app name, category, data type and confidence level (high / medium / low)
  • Feedback loop — mark each result as correct or incorrect to improve future accuracy

AI results are displayed alongside built-in identifications, so the view stays consistent.

Cleanup

Once you have identified what to remove:

  1. Select items — check the boxes next to folders you want to clean
  2. Review the summary — the bottom panel shows the number of selected items and the estimated space to be freed
  3. Confirm — click "Safe Cleanup" and confirm the dialog

Depending on the size and type of the cleanup, additional confirmation steps may appear:

  • Large file warning — cleaning a very large amount of data asks for explicit confirmation
  • Running app warning — if a related application is still running, you are asked to close it first
  • Chat file warning — chat-related files require typing a confirmation word, as they cannot be recovered after cleanup

Cleanup Safety

Every cleanable item is marked with one of three safety levels:

⚠ Recycle Bin Protection

All cleaned files are moved to the system recycle bin, not permanently deleted. You have 30 days to restore any file you change your mind about.

After cleanup, a report dialog shows the results: how many items succeeded, how much space was freed, and any items that failed (with reasons such as path not found or system-protected path).

Cleanup History

The cleanup history panel tracks every cleanup session:

  • Per-session details — date, number of items cleaned and space freed
  • Cumulative stats — total space freed and total number of cleanups, shown in the stats bar below the disk overview
  • Delete records — remove individual history entries if desired
  • Launcher — open the Disk Cleaner with a keystroke via Alt+Space
